British Invasion

September 19-21, 2025

Each September, Stowe is transformed into a haven for car enthusiasts during the British Invasion, the largest all-British motorcar show in the United States. More than 600 classic British cars roll into town from across the U.S. and Canada, creating a one-of-a-kind showcase of craftsmanship, history, and style. Beyond the cars, the weekend is a full celebration of British culture, complete with music, food, and festivities.

The excitement kicks off with the British Invasion Block Party on Stowe’s Main Street, where locals and visitors gather to admire sleek vintage vehicles, enjoy live music, and sample food and drinks in the heart of town. von Trapp Brewing Oktoberfest

September 20, 2025

Raise a stein and celebrate the season at the von Trapp Brewing Oktoberfest, where Bavarian tradition meets Vermont charm. Each September, the von Trapp Biergarten and Bierhall are transformed into a lively festival space, complete with authentic Oktoberfest cuisine, games and plenty of crisp, freshly brewed lagers. The air fills with the sound of Bavarian-style music, inviting guests to sing, dance and enjoy the festive spirit that has made this event a Stowe fall favorite.

The highlight of the celebration is the famous Stein-holding competition, where participants test their strength and endurance for bragging rights. Between the music, the food and the camaraderie, the atmosphere feels straight out of Austria—an homage to the von Trapp family’s heritage. The event is first-come, first-choice of seating, and the event draws crowds eager to embrace the joy of Oktoberfest in the mountains.

Pumpkin Chuckin' Festival

September 28, 2025

Every fall, pumpkins take flight at the Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival, one of the most unique events of the season. Using homemade trebuchets—gravity-powered catapults—participants of all ages compete to see just how far they can launch a pumpkin, with distances stretching hundreds of feet. It’s part science fair, part sport and completely entertaining, whether you’re building your own launcher or simply cheering from the sidelines.

Beyond the action, the festival is also a celebration of Vermont’s creative spirit. More than 40 vendors set up shop with pottery, jewelry, maple products, honey, photography and more, making it as much a craft fair as a competition. The result is a full day of fun—family-friendly, community-driven and unlike anything else you’ll find in the Green Mountains each fall.
