Stowe Vibrancy’s Old-Fashioned Fourth of July is everything you love about a classic New England summer: a main street lined with patriotic storefront displays, neighbors gathering on the Village Green, a hometown parade, live music, and children running from one adventure to the next.
Spend the day in downtown Stowe exploring the Art on Park artisan market, sampling delicious fare from local eateries, visiting a petting zoo on the library lawn, enjoying art activities and games. Join the sweetest competition in town at the pie eating contest, run for the golden sneakers in the world’s shortest marathon honoring USMC First Lt. Ryan Casey, sway to the rhythms of live music, and feel Main Street come alive for one of Vermont’s most cherished Fourth of July parades. As afternoon turns to evening, gather with friends and family at the Mayo Events Fields for games and activities, and fireworks at dusk.
It’s not too late to be part of the parade. Build a float, ride a bike, do a dance, wave a flag, or wherever your imagination leads you. Send your entry to Tiffany at ttona@truenorthterra.com and she’ll send you all the lineup details.
Whether you’re a lifelong local or discovering Stowe for the first time, you’ll always find the kind of Fourth of July here that seems increasingly rare—a day filled with simple pleasures, community spirit, and timeless traditions.
Come celebrate America’s 250th birthday the old-fashioned way in Stowe!
