Those seeking a quintessential New England getaway can easily access Stowe, Vermont by plane any time of year. Along with several air travel options in the area, aerial views of the Green Mountains are a welcoming sight for visitors from around the world.

Stowe is just a 45-minute drive from Burlington International Airport (BTV), a full-service international airport located in the Burlington, Vermont area. Direct flights from major cities include Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Newark, New York (JFK and LGA), Orlando, Philadelphia, Toronto and Washington, DC. These cities are access points to other worldwide destinations. Several ground transportation options are available to get to Stowe from the airport. Canadian-based Porter Airlines offers seasonal direct flights from Toronto (YTZ) to BTV. Vermonters also have direct access to Toronto from Burlington. Flights are currently available for the winter season through March 27, 2018. Stowe lodging properties are offering special rates on accommodations for Canadian residents through March 18. The Porter Airlines blog suggests a few Stowe hot spots while in town.

Stowe has its own local airport that’s just a quick seven-minute drive from Stowe village. The Morrisville-Stowe State Airport (MVL) is a full-service airport built 40 years ago that provides a personalized experience with magnificent views along the way. Recent renovations to the state-of-the-art airport include a reconstructed runway, taxiway and a new lighting system. Stowe Aviation manages MVL and works with private charters that roll out the red carpet with special craft beverages on-board and convenient transportation to your next Stowe destination. Free parking is available. The Morrisville-Stowe State Airport also has car rentals available to get around Stowe. The concierge at select Stowe lodging properties may also arrange your shuttle pickup from the airport.

Tradewind Aviation is an exclusive scheduled service airline offering winter seasonal private charter flights as well as scheduled shuttle service between Stowe and White Plains, NY. This is a convenient option for those originating in the New York City metropolitan area as the cost of a charter plane is shared among passengers. Flights depart the Westchester County Airport (HPN) on Fridays and Sundays in the winter months, with additional flights added as scheduling and demand allow. HPN also has free parking and is about a half-hour train ride from the city, which allows Vermonters affordable access to New York City with half-price return flights to White Plains.

The Morrisville-Stowe State Airport is also home to Stowe Soaring, which hosts glider rides in the summer and fall. The airport hosts events like Stowe Airtoberfest in October. Last week, the Morrisville-Stowe State Airport welcomed the world’s first Pilatus PC-24, the first-of-its-kind twin-engine business jet that offers a new standard in private jet travel.
