Stowe Recreation Path

Stretching 5.3 miles from the heart of Stowe Village to a charming covered bridge, the Stowe Recreation Path offers one of the most scenic and accessible ways to experience the area. This paved, public trail meanders alongside the Little River and through open meadows, offering a front-row seat to Vermont’s natural beauty in every season.

Beloved by visitors and locals alike, the path is open year-round and free to use. In spring, summer, and fall, it's ideal for walking, running and biking—with mostly level terrain that makes it friendly for all ages and abilities. Come winter, the path is groomed by Stowe Nordic for cross-country skiing and is also popular with snowshoers.

Along the way, you’ll find plenty of places to pause: picnic tables, scenic overlooks, swimming holes and direct access to restaurants, shops and parks. Need a tune-up or looking to rent a bike? Maintenance stations are available at Lintilhac and Chase Parks, and bike rentals are easy to find nearby.
