Absolute Mountain Race at Stowe Mountain Resort
Absolute Mountain is a series of fitness races set in some of the most epic and challenging terrain in the mountains, beach, and desert environments. Every course is uniquely designed and features eight total workout stations, one pre-race and seven throughout the course.
Unlike other fitness racing companies, our non-profit partnerships weren't an afterthought. We’re committed to supporting our nonprofit partners, strengthening communities and local causes, and ensuring every race leaves a lasting, positive impact that extends far beyond the finish line.
On September 5th at Stowe Mountain Resort, athletes begin at the base of the mountain with a 2-minute, max-effort, upper-body push machine - Concept2's StrengthErg. Every 10 kg/m on the StrengthErg deducts 1 second from your final race time. From there, the race officially begins as athletes run uphill and complete 7 workout stations along the course, approximately 3km.
For the Absolute Division: Athletes will wear a weight vest for the entire race, including all workout stations. Men: 20 lbs vest | Women: 12 lbs vest. The only exception is the StrengthErg, which is completed pre-race and without a weight vest.
