About Sister Speak:
"An amazing woman with an amazing song" - Tom Rush
"High energy alternative indie-pop" – CBC Radio
Sister Speak is the recording alias for Canadian singer and guitarist Sherri Anne. Hailing originally from the west coast and now based in Vermont and Montreal, Sister Speak’s sound is a fusion of alt/folk, roots-rock, and indie-pop, with Sherri Anne’s soulful vocals and guitar playing at the forefront. Sister Speak has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, and has released four albums to date. Join us Aug 10th to celebrate the release of her 5th record, the Coming Home ep, with a special performance with her full band. The Coming Home ep marks a milestone as it also features Sister Speak's first ever French Language release, "L'amour partout." Recorded with Juno-Award winning engineers Elisa Pangsaeng and Erik Neilson(bassist of City and Colour) at the helm, as well as Stephen Haaker and Brett Grossman for "L'amour partout," a new maiden voyage is on its way.
Recently, Sister Speak has supported reggae legend Don Carlos, Air Supply, Black Uhuru (festival) and The Doobie Brothers. In addition, she has performed at festivals alongside acts such as Mary Lambert, The Wailers and Dan Mangan, among others. Her music has been featured on CBC, BBC, NPR, and various radio stations around the world. During her time in California, Sister Speak was voted "Best Pop" at the San Diego Music Awards and "Top 10 Rhythm Guitarist" by NBC, and partnerships formed with sponsors Taylor Guitars and D'addario (strings). Fourth record, Love For All (L’Amour Pour Tous), now out on vinyl record, features award-winning musicians and engineers and both a festive and vulnerable voyage of songs.
