Friends of Waterbury Reservoir Presents: The Bald Eagle’s Comeback

We are delighted to invite you to the Friends of Waterbury Reservoir's upcoming Annual Meeting scheduled for Saturday, October 10th, 2026, 1:00 PM at St. Leo’s Hall, located at 109 South Main Street in Waterbury, Vermont.

This year, we are excited to host a special and educational presentation, The Bald Eagle’s Comeback in Vermont, by Margaret Fowle. Margaret Fowle is a conservation biologist and Program Manager with Audubon Vermont's Priority Bird and Working Lands Initiatives. Margaret has been coordinating Peregrine Falcon and Bald Eagle recovery and monitoring efforts in Vermont since 1997. Margaret also works with private landowners to promote management activities that enhance grassland, shrubland, and farmland habitats for priority bird species. Margaret obtained her master’s degree in wildlife biology from the University of Vermont and lives in Huntington. She will discuss the natural history, population trends, and impressive recovery of eagles in Vermont and beyond.

The event is suitable for all ages and is offered free of charge to our community members. Donations to the Friends of Waterbury Reservoir are always appreciated to help us continue our conservation and educational efforts.
