Author Event at Bear Pond Books: Michael Priestley
Date
We are excited to welcome local author, Michael Priestley, to Bear Pond Books!
Join us on February 15th from 1-3pm for a signing event celebrating his new book, "As I Lie".
About the Book:
An unexceptional day in Smith Falls goes awry when Marlowe Burden takes his morning walk and finds a woman’s body floating in the river. And he knows who it is. She has been seen around town with his own married brother.
On the same day, Marlowe and his siblings receive word that their father is close to dying and will not last much longer, prompting a long-deferred trip to their hometown of Jefferson to say their final goodbyes.
The momentous visit soon devolves into a search for answers and a settling of old grudges as the family gathers around the patriarch, tussles over his final will and testament, and survives a hundred-year storm.
Ultimately, As I Lie delves into how we remember the events of the past, what we choose to share with others, and what we keep to ourselves.
