Join Bear Pond Books in Stowe, Vermont for an author event on February 21st from 1pm to 3pm celebrating Michael Caldwell's book, Tao of Snow: Essays from Dawn Land.

About the Book:

Tao of Snow: Essays from Dawn Land is a collection of 17 essays on backcountry skiing, wilderness paddling, and conversations with old-timers in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

"Dawn Land" reports on his thirty year fracas with beavers on his maple woodlot. Wobanaki axe heads in his garden adjacent to the beaver pond connect him to the native people who have lived with beavers here for maybe thousands of years.

"Ski Logger," "Rocking Chair Lift," and "Two Below Honey" offer spiritual reflections on outdoor life. Humor and grief combine in "Tao of Snow" and "Laugh."

About the Author:

Michael is a retired Congregational pastor and sugarmaker who stays active as a varsity high school soccer official and certified tree farmer. He and his wife Patience Whitman are members of the ecumenical international Iona Community
