Spring Bird Walk
Join Steve Hagenbuch, biologist, and Allan Thompson, forester, from the Waterbury Conservation Commission to look and listen for spring arrivals at the Waterworks Property. This is a fun and casual event for current and aspiring birders. This walk is hosted by Waterbury Conservation Commission and the Shutesville Hill Wildlife Partnership.
Connecting the Green Mountains to the Worcester Range, the Shutesville Hill Wildlife Corridor is the last remaining avenue for wildlife to cross Route 100 to access additional habitat on the other side. It is one of the five most important wildlife crossings in the state and a critical part of a international network of connected forest habitats in the northeast. This bird walk takes place in the corridor and is a great opportunity to get out on the land and maybe even see some other wildlife!
We will meet on Waterworks Road in Stowe, look for other parked cars along the road. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring binoculars if you have them.
This even is free and open to the public. Please RSVP here.
